Roads blocked as police separate rival football fans
Roads in Ashley Down and Horfield were cordoned off as police kept rival football fans apart ahead of Saturday's lunchtime derby match between Rovers and Swindon Town.

Hundreds of noisy but good-natured Swindon fans were kettled outside the Sportsman pub on Seymour Road before being led in procession towards the Mem.

Uniformed escorts took the crowds across Ashley Down Road and then along Queens Road. Police on horseback followed as the group was then led up Muller Road to the stadium.
Rovers lost 3-0 to Swindon, whose manager Ian Holloway was a former player-manager with the Pirates. It was their 10th consecutive League Two defeat.
